Moorman provides many statistics to answer this question. The main takeaways from Moorman’s stats are the following:
- Many marketers didn’t believe it was appropriate to take a stance on politically charged issues within their brands - Those who didn’t believe it was appropriate was mostly worried about the bottom line, and the negative effects of taking a stand. - Those who did believe it was appropriate were focused on social leadership
